First use of your Kamado Forest Grill

The kamado is a barbecue that allows you to do different types of cooking in one device. You can grill, roast, smoke, bake and even make pizzas or bread using the Forest as a bread oven.

1. For your first use, you should start by lighting the kamado. Use firelighters that you place in the middle of a charcoal fire (if possible of natural origin for a better combustion).

2. Open the bottom hatch of the Kamado wide to create a draft and create a draft in the Forest. Then ignite the firelighters so that the charcoal is glowing.

3. Leave the lid open until the embers glow. It takes about 10 minutes to reach 150°C, 15 minutes for 200°C and 20 minutes for 250°C. At this point you can close the lid of the kamado and start using it.

Your Forest is ready for use!

Depending on the type of cooking you want to do, you can adjust the temperature inside the Forest precisely by adjusting the air intake hatch at the bottom of the kamado and the chimney at the top of the kamado lid. The more the bottom air intake and the chimney are opened, the higher the temperature of the Forest.

Once you have reached the desired temperature, it is advisable to keep the Forest closed as much as possible. This keeps the heat in and the temperature as constant as possible.
